    3. Okay cousins! I think I've located the third wife of James W. Gibson - a Mrs. Amelia [nee Walton] Degeer. Wives of James W. Gibson: #1 Prudence Irene McGinnis who he married on 16 Dec 1850 in Union Co.,IL. - she died 27 Dec 1862 [mother of John Logan Gibson] #2 Mrs. Nancy A. [nee Hamilton] Hampton- - who James W. Gibson married on 3 Sep 1864 in Hamilton Co.,IL - she died 27 Jun 1881 #3 Mrs. Amelia/Amilia [nee Walton] Degeer-?-who James W. Gibson married 18 Oct 1882 in Gallatin Co., IL. James W. Gibson is listed on the 1900 Federal Census for Mayberry Township/Broughton, Hamilton Co.,IL. pg. 317A Supervisor's District No 14 Enumeration District No 56 Sheet No 1 Mayberry Township [village] Broughton.... lines 33 thru 36: Gibson, James W head w m [Aug 1828] age 71 [M] [17 yrs married] .. .. b.Tenn father b. NC mother b. NC .. .. .. Farmer........owned the farm Gibson, Amelia wife w f [Jan 1838] age 62 [M] [17 yrs married][ births 3 children/ living 1] b. IL father born in MS mother born in ? Gibson, John relative boarder w m ... ... ...S... .. .. b. IL father. IL mother IL farm laborer Gibson, America relative boarder w f .. .. ...S.. .. .. b. IL father. IL mother IL I know that the John Gibson listed is not John Logan Gibson, son of James W. Gibson and first wife, Prudence Irene [nee McGinnis]. John Logan Gibson had moved to Smith Mills, Henderson Co.,IL., long before this and married and had several children. John L. Gibson and family moved to California about 1906. I have a hunch that the John and America listed on the 1900 are a nephew and niece of James W. Gibson...unfortunately the ages weren't given...uh! James W. Gibson's brother, John, [ listed as a Regular Baptist Preacher in Perry County,IL in 1850] died in Hamilton Co.,IL., in 1872...and according to his probate left no children. Anybody have any information on Amelia/Amilia [nee Walton] Degeer or the two boarders, John and America Gibson? This maybe John M. Gibson, son of Daniel Gibson [brother of James W.] and Malinda [nee Trout] and his spouse [?] America. I am not at all sure whether John M. Gibson was married or not or when he died. So far the only clue I have about him would have him born about 1865... making him 35 in 1900 if this is him on the 1900 census.
