    3. Francis Ann Redfearn second married Thomas Anderson, son of John Anderson and Mouring Maulding, on 13 Apr 1887 in Hamilton Co., IL. There's more details if someone wants them. Berry W. Redferrn, husband of Josephine Wooldridge, was born after John L. in 1845 in TN and died 15 Nov 1863 in Nashville, TN during battle. He was buried in the National Cemetery in Nashville. John L. Redfearn had a meat market in McLeansboro until his death and died in McLeansboro. There is a divorce record dated 1897 for Catherine Oglesby and John Redferrn in Hamilton Co., IL. Catherine died 15 Jun 1903. John L. and Catherine's son, Berry first married Emma Appel in Gallatin Co., IL on 28 Apr 1891. She died in 1903 and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. The children are hers: Berry, Harry, two daughters. John may have had six wives. I believe that Mariah was yet another wife. She and John L. were married in 1897 and divorced in Sept 1903 in Hamilton Co., Il, according to the divorce records. Mariah had a different death date from Catherine's. This Anna M. was divorced from John L. in Sept 1905. Was Artemissa Darnell divorced from John? 1880 Census- Flannigan Twp., Hamilton Co., IL: David J. Redferrn 26 MO MO MO May E. 27 IL IL IL Annis B. (Dau) 1 IL William 9 IL Cameron E. 7 IL Cord E. (Cordelia?) 4 IL There are widow's pension papers for Berry W., husband of Josephine Wooldridge, that list much of his family information. Peg Spencer

    3. Thanks for your additions Peg (more below)... I have been to far behind and can not keep up in this last year :-) > Francis Ann Redfearn second married Thomas Anderson, son of John > Anderson and Mouring Maulding, on 13 Apr 1887 in Hamilton Co., IL. > There's more details if someone wants them. is that Mourning? > Berry W. Redferrn, husband of Josephine Wooldridge, was born after John > L. in 1845 in TN and died 15 Nov 1863 in Nashville, TN during battle. He > was buried in the National Cemetery in Nashville. The Monroe Co TN census shows Berry as an older sib of John and Robert Henderson Redfearn... 1850 Monroe Co., TN Census District 14 HH 1776 Redfirin, Hansey 50 M NC Farmer Polly 45 F NC Frances 19 F TN Charles 11 M TN Berry 9 M TN Henderson 5 M TN John 3 M TN George 1 M TN And the Hamilton Co 1860 stays in line with Robert's age of 1845 and John's as also being pretty close.... 1860 Hamilton Co., IL Census McLeansboro Post Office 792/793 REDFERREN, Mary 52 M? Farming 100 SC Robert H. 15 M Laborer TN John L. 12 M TN George M. 16 M Laborer TN Also Robert's obit says he was born 1845. I have to believe that Berry was an older sib of Robert and John, do you think? In the 1860 census Robert and John were still at home, Berry's gone and didn't marry until 1861, but where was he in 1860?? > John L. Redfearn had a meat market in McLeansboro until his death and > died in McLeansboro. > > There is a divorce record dated 1897 for Catherine Oglesby and John > Redferrn in Hamilton Co., IL. The children are hers: Berry, Harry, two > daughters. hmmm, she was alive for two years during her marriage to Berry, and had four children. Either her marriage date is off a tad, or she had twins?? > John may have had six wives. I believe that Mariah was yet another wife. > She and John L. were married in 1897 and divorced in Sept 1903 in > Hamilton Co., Il, according to the divorce records. Mariah had a > different death date from Catherine's. hmm, I show John married 12 Jul 1901 to Artemissa Darnell in HCI. This came from the Darnall/Darnell family book, so I haven't seen the record. It would be interesting to see... > This Anna M. was divorced from John L. in Sept 1905. Was Artemissa > Darnell divorced from John? I don't know? I have a feeling that one or two of these woman may be of the same person. We need to see these marriage/divorce records and would probly help considerably... Another clue is the obit of a John Redfearn in LOK, aged 39, b. McL, and died in MO in 1938(?).... s/o the late John Redfearn. says he was the half brother of the late Berry Redfearn and buried IOOF in McL... he had a widow. Who was his wife and mother?? This would make him born abt 1898/99 > 1880 Census- Flannigan Twp., Hamilton Co., IL: > David J. Redferrn 26 MO MO MO > May E. 27 IL IL IL > Annis B. (Dau) 1 IL > William 9 IL > Cameron E. 7 IL > Cord E. (Cordelia?) 4 IL David Jackson seems to be a popular name in this family. From memory, there were a few more Redfearn marriages in Monroe/Rone Co's TN. May have been older children of Hansy that were married before the TN Monroe 1850 census... Please let me know if you find more on the activities of John L.... Best Regards, Trev
