    1. [ILHAMILT-L] Re: Question about William T GIBSON and Sara Catherine DOUGLASS
    2. Barb, William T. Gibson and Sarah E. Douglass married on 30 Aug 1866 in White County, IL.. There is a Cordelia Hampton who married William Douglass (brother of Henry) on 19 Feb 1836; and when her husband died she married Elias Scott (brother to my 2nd great-grandfather) on 6 Nov 1838. When Elias died in 1850 she later married Samuel Crouse (on 17 Oct 1861); and finaly after Samuel died she married William Gibson on 10 Jul 1866. I research her because she is in both the Douglass and the Scott lines of my family. Darlene

    3. Thanks again Darlene, guess this means we are cousins by association of events if not blood...<grin>. I am confused -[a normal state of affairs when dealing with my GIBSON line]- if I read your message right we have William T. GIBSON m. Sarah E. DOUGLASS -and- William GIBSON m. Cordelia HAMPTON ... right ? Two different William GIBSONs and two different women. Have we figured out who the parents of Wm T. GIBSON are ? And how about the "plain" William GIBSON, do we know whose son he was? Like most families, the GIBSONs recycled given names which makes it a bit confusing to track the various individuals at times. Hmmmm....any more clues? Barb in Savannah,GA
