I just have to share a couple of wonderful genealogy sites with you all....doing research in IL,TN,KY,GA,NC,MO,CA,MS,AL,NY and even more, including England and Italy, I run into some great sites that are both helpful and pleasing to the eye...I have found two that have great resources to use with your research and are examples of great personal genealogy sites. I try to remember that new people come on the lists I sub to and try and pass on quality hints and tips as I run into good sites. The first site is maintained by Tony & Lynda Langham who migrated from England to Australia...but don't let that throw you... the main thing that I want to share about their site: http://onthenet.com.au/~tonylang/Mainpage.html is the OLD OCCUPATIONAL TERMS page: http://onthenet.com.au/~tonylang/Occupa.htm It is WONDERFUL...has to be the largest explanation of OLD OCCUPATIONAL TERMS that I have seen... many,many which are found in our USA ancestors backgrounds....and these terms are collected from a wide range of sources....check it out. Also, if you have any ancestors that may have come from the Manchester & Lancashire areas of England you will want to check out their M&LFHS link...which you can reach from their main page above.
