Does anyone know what the "Y" in Zachariah Allen's middle name is for? This is the first time I have seen it. I would like to comment on his wife's name I have her as Frances Snow Blackard and have seen others having her listed this way. Have seen her son as William Blackard Ward Allen. Frances' daughter Nancy S. is (Smith) Allen Their son Samuel B. Allen's middle name was "Berry" . Got this information from his descendants. He was a Notary Public for Hamilton County and his wife was Cordelia Hardesty. Both of their obituaries are listed on the Broughton site under obituaries:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jgholson/obitury.htm click on Allen obits. James
Young is the middle name. It came from a pension record. I will change Francis Snow Blanchard to Blackard. Hard to read the handwriting in these old documents. Thanks.
