Oops..left one off the last message..also on the paper with DERHAM,McQUEY, et al...was Robert S. GIBSON...he may have been another sibling I am unaware of ...possibly the one that Benjamin M GIBSON named a son after in 1850...and may possibly explain why I haven't found a son recorded for Robert and Sarah Gibson named Robert...he may have died prior to his father's death in 1852..which would date the paper with the mystery name on it to prior to this time. And this may be the case with Louisa McQuey(MacQuay), Mary Derham, and Mary Gibson...they may have all been siblings of Amos, Benjamin,Fanny,Martha,Sarah and Daniel Gibson. But the double Marthas and double Marys have me puzzled...though it was not unusual for a given name to be used attached to more than one child..and the child to go by a different "call" name. One of the reasons I think this might be the case is that James W. Gibson,William Gibson and John Gibson are missing from the mix. All were siblings of the other Gibson offspring. I know that James died in 1907 so that means what? And that John died in 1872 and William prior to 1852...Hmmmm!:??? Perhaps the Robert S. Gibson on the paper was a sibling who had recently died. Hmmmm...maybe leaving James W.,John and William Gibson off the sheet of paper was an oversight...I have a hunch someone was trying to list the living children of Robert Gibson at the time. But when and for what reason...Louisa McQUEY and Mary DERHAM do not show up anywhere else that I can find in reference to Robert and Sarah Gibson. I have one or two other "incomplete" documents where someone started to fill out a court document but didn't finish..bet this is similar situation...which would also explain the double Marthas and Marys..someone was trying to figure out who was who...so we are down to who was Louisa McQUEY and Mary DERHAM. A couple of other possibilities come to mind. Sarah, wife of Robert GIBSON was alive for the 1840 Census..based on the numbers and ages indicated...and was not alive in 1852 at the death of her husband based on probate records. The Sarah on the list would be her daughter...also called "Sallie/Sally". There is a vague reference in the probate records of John Gibson [son of Robert and Sarah], administered by James W. Gibson, which simply says "the heirs of William Gibson"...I am thinking that Louisa McQuey and Mary Derham may be related daughters of William and Elizabeth Gibson. Neither William nor Elizabeth were alive at the time of John's death. And James was the administrator of the estate. All this would explain why John,James and William would not be on the list...I think maybe this is the answer..but when were Louisa and Mary born and when and where did they marry? Or were they daughters of a "missing" sibling , Robert S.? Anybody have a loose Derham/Durham or McQuey (McKay,McGhee, etc) they need to connect with someone? Barb in Savannah,GA
