Does anyone know anything more about a John Allen born in Memphis, TN and died 1846. He married Sarah Moore Heard, widow of Charles Heard.. There were two children: Joseph Allen b. 1831 and Marium Allen. I am not sure if they are Sarah and John Allen's children or children from a previous marriage. Their marriage date, his birth date, other spouses would be of interest. I also have limited information on a Sarah A. Allen b. 4/28/1842 and died 10/18/1879 she married a George Washington Farris who was the son of Thompson and Julia Farris.. Info on Sarah's parents would be interesting.

Sarah Ann Moore was the daughter of John Moore and Mary Duff. She was born in 1790 in SC and died on the 10 Aug 1863 in Hamilton Co., IL. She was 70 years old. She is buried in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro. Sarah has a colorful history, having the only momuments left in the Old McLeansboro Cemetery dedicated to her daughter Henrietta Allen, who died 13 Aug 1839 and various husbands. Unlucky in keeping a husband alive, Sarah Ann Moore first married Charles McDonald Heard; they had four children: Charles Harvey (married Isabella Marshall), James Mulhiron, John Henry (married Nancy Drew), and Elizabeth. Charles died before 1825. Sarah Heard second married James Allen on 21 Jul 1825 in Hamilton Co., IL. They had three children: Joseph, b. 1830, Marium, b 1834, and Henrietta, d. 13 Aug 1839. James died before the 12 Sep 1846. His will was probated on that date. Sarah Allen third married John H. Blacker, b. 1809; Dublin, IRE and died 19 Jul 1849 in Hamilton Co., IL. Sarah Ann Allen was the daughter of John Allen and Elizabeth Colbert. She married George Washington Farris on 3 Mar 1859. She died birthing her last daughter; both are buried together in Webb Cemetery.
