Sharlene, One of the collateral lines in my McMahan (McMahon) Family is Lucretia McMahan Wheeler who was born in Ohio and died in Hamilton County, IL . In her obituary she says that her family (they came to Il ca 1853) came by boat (Ohio River) to Shawneetown, IL and then by wagon to Hamilton County, IL.
