I noticed the the recent postings on REDFERN that they came from Monroe County Tennessee as did my g2 grandfather, Thomas Preston Leslie and wife Nancy Peck. They came to Hamilton County in 1851. Just wondering if anyone knows did they come as a group. Also, any ideas on what would have been the most likely mode of travel from east Tennessee to Hamilton County. It would have been quite a trip in a covered wagon as roads were primitive. David Leslie Garland, TX

My ancestors-Martin Luther & Ann Susan(Smith) Hicks-m in 1851 in Monroe Co. Tn and eventually moved to Hamilton Co.IL where Luther bought land in 1857. I don't show a Redfearn or Leslie or Peck in my family tree, but I don't have all the history of the family nor the names of in-laws and cousins. May have some connection.
