You may be thinking of HICKMAN instead of HICKS. Ellen SONGER was sister of my ancestor, Charles Hickman SONGER. They were children of Hickman and Ruth (SANDERS) SONGER who married 14 Jul 1844 in Lawrence Co, OH. Hickman was a son of Christian and Catherine (HICKMAN) SONGER who married 8 Nov 1803 in Montgomery Co, VA. The SONGERs were of German descent. Ellen SONGER married Lyman MUNSELL, son of Richard MUNSELL who was the son of Ira MUNSELL. I think there was a Hicks-Songer connection somewhere along the line in Hamilton Co. (early to mid 1800s if I'm recalling correctly). Sarah V. L. MUNSELL married George REDFEARN in the latter 1800s. Sarah V. L. was b 1847 Hamilton Co IL and was the daughter of Richard MUNSELL and Malissa PROCTOR, and the granddaughter of Ira MUNSELL.
