Surviving are his parents, Wayne and Donna Morris of Dahlgren; one sister, Lyndi Davis of Waterloo, IL; a nephew, Quincy Morris Davis; a niece, Elizabeth Dian Davis; and grandmothers, Goldia Hale of McLeansboro and Fay Morris of Dahlgren. At his request his body was cremated. A private family burial of ashes will be conducted at a later date, at which time his ashes will be scattered on his tree farm.     3. — Velma Allen Johnson, 94, of McLeansboro, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at McLeansboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Oct. 25, 1917, in Delafield, the daughter of John Henry Hart and Bertha Ann (Tennyson) Hart. She married Roy Allen and he preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Leonard Johnson and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1996. She was the retired owner of Allen Hatchery and a member of the Delafield Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, Luan Crable of Mt. Vernon; grandson, Alexander Crisel of Champaign; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four brothers and one sister. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. He was born Dec. 3, 1931, in McLeansboro, Ill., to David H. and Mary (Ingram) Vaughn. He married Norma L. Daily Dec. 9, 1950, in McLeansboro. She survives along with three sons, Danny Vaughn of Glasford, Kenny (Dorothy) Vaughn of Geneseo and Allen (Cindy) Vaughn of Brisbane, Australia; nine grandchildren, Shelby Vaughn, B.J. (Angie) Vaughn, Shawna (Adam) Blank, Chelsea Vaughn, Eric (Sunny) Vaughn, Jessica (Bryant) Parker, Tyler Vaughn, Alyssa Vaughn and Justin Vaughn; and his five great-grandchildren, Joshua Vaughn, Avery Vaughn, Mya Vaughn, Gannon Vaughn and Zachary Blank. Also surviving are two brothers, Elmer (Betty) Vaughn of Bartonville and Thomas (Paulene) Vaughn of McLeansboro, and one sister, June Berry of South Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, five sisters and one daughter-in-law, Linda Vaughn. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville in 1985 after 30 years of service. He loved horses, especially his horse Chico, and teaching them tricks. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Pekin Riding Club. Funeral services will be Friday, April 13, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin.     3. Bonnie Riley 24-year-old former McLeansboro resident, Bonnie Riley of Springfield, MO died at 10 a.m. Saturday,April 7 in Lebanon, MO as the result of a traffic accident. Bonnie Riley is the daughter of Don and Beverly Riley of Rolla, MO and formerly of McLeansboro and the granddaughter of Cecil and the late Carol Shasteen. Services for Bonnie Riley will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the Rolla Church of Christ in Rolla, MO with burial in the Little Prairie Burial Ground in St. James, MO. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. til 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at the James & Gahr Funeral Home in St. James, MO.     3. Charles "Ed" May 83-year-old Dahlgren resident, Charles "Ed" May, died Saturday evening, April 7 at his home. He was employed by Taylor Sawmill in Enfield as a Head-Sawer from which he retired. He also served in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are four sons, Garry of Benton, IL, Larry of Dahlgren, Andy of McLeansboro and David; one daughter, Susan Mansfield of Salem, IL; two sisters, Marylou Thurman of Bloomfield, MO and Doris Gamblin of Fairdealing, MO; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Charles "Ed" May will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery at Dale, IL.     3. Mon Apr 09, 2012, 08:00 AM CDT MT. VERNON — — Olive Lee Ragan, 93, of McLeansboro, died 3:35 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Franklin County Hospital in Benton. She was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Orvil F. and Ellen (Roberts) Barker. She married Jeff Ragan on Aug. 26, 1936, in Salem, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was an artistic, creative, energetic and loving wife, helpmate, mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by sons, Bill (wife Sandra) Ragan of McLeansboro, Irvin (companion Joy Welch) Ragan of McLeansboro, Monty Ragan of McLeansboro and Randall (wife Diana) of McLeansboro; daughters, Donna (husband Ed) Betts of McLeansboro and Rosemary (husband Philip) Payne of Macedonia; daughter-in-law, Becky Ragan of McLeansboro; brother, Larry (wife Nell) Barker of Dixon; eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three brothers, Reese, Bryce and Sam Barker; and one sister, Cora Coppedge. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McLeansboro First General Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Cook officiating. Interment will be at Barker Cemetery in Broughton. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the First General Baptist Church and will be accepted at the church or at Gholson Funeral Home. Gholson Funeral Home is in charge of all the funeral arrangements
