Oh what a mess..... I think I'm going to have to look this marriage record up on next visit. Sam and Misty, thanks for your efforts.... it all helps, but I don't think it got me any closer:-)...... I think maybe the divorce for Anna M., may have been our Darnell. I really need to look at the marriage record (and about 50 more)..... I think I'm going to spend more time at the county clerks office next visit, rather then bury my face in that vault with the probates, haha Best Regards, Trev ----- Original Message ----- From: <SSmith0940@aol.com> To: <ILHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, 19 January, 2001 9:26 AM Subject: Re: [ILHAMILT-L] Re: John L. Are there any Metcalf or Upton researchers who have a Joseph Metcalf who married Eliza Jane Upton in Jan. 1871 ? It appears they were divorced in 1880. What I need to know is who the parents of this Eliza Jane Upton were ? Thank You, Carolyn Campbell White
Trev, this line ties into one of my associated lines (Thomas C. DARNELL and Martha Ann S. BAINS). The question marks in Mr. Felty's entries leads me to believe he may not have been sure that the listed divorces were John L. Redfearn. Any thoughts, Trev, or from others on the list? This is a genealogy mail list and not a place to air ones political views. That is what your Senators have telephones, e-mail, fax etc. for. If a person does not have a ambition to go that route that then is there problem. Do not subject a genealogy sight for your unhappiness. Enough said. -- Vi Poland
Good Morning List, Earlier this month a warning came from the White Co. list regarding a virus that a person kept getting and deleting. I have now gotten it and of course it has been deleted and then deleted again. It comes from a fictitious e-mail address hahaha @ sexyfun. net , and is titled Snowhite and the seven Dwarfs. This morning in the Rootsweb Review they talk about this. So please BEWARE. Don't open it. Carolyn Campbell White
Just when I thought we were going to get through this rather tumultuous political season unscathed on our list, somebody just couldn't resist. The offending party has been a subscriber for quite a while and should know that these kind of flame-baiting messages are a no-no and way way off-topic for this list. I've unsubbed and blocked their address for now until they can come up with a good explanation and/or apology. So, sorry for the disruption ... let's drop the subject and get back to Hamilton County genealogy. If you still feel you need to vent, please do it to my personal address and not to the list. Thanks, Mike _____________________________ Michael L. Hebert, Listowner Email: mhebert.usgw@home.com
I thought this list was to be kept for genealogy only. I resent this kind of editorializing by list members. In the past, list members have been condemned for posting far less controversial non-genealogy messages. Let's keep this list for genealogy only and keep the personal opinions to ourselves. Carol
This is a site to search for genealogy information, not political. Can this forum continue to be excluded from politcal hacks? I continue to research family information, including political figures, but do not want to be interrupted on this forum with current political views. I want history. That is why I joined this forum. Is there anything that can be done to stop those from entering with the wrong motive? Linda in Illinois
People.... Let`s keep our opinions to ourselves. What I like most about the Ham.Cty List is the assistance we sometimes give each other. This is done with no bias. If I want a political opinion I`ll look in the op-ed page of my newspaper. ..... Though well intended.. political views have no place on this list. Sincerely, Jim Kelley
