I can send the ones buried at Sugar Camp. >> Shirley - Thanks for the offer. The most pressing piece of info I would like to have are the parents of Sarah Jane STURMAN. I know that her father is "A.M." and he was born in McCleansboro. I know nothing about her mother. Siblings of Sarah would be nice as well. Since A.M. STURMAN was a judge in Hamilton County (guessing middle third of the 1800s), that info shouldn't be all that hard to find. Maybe he is the reason there is a "Sturman Street". If you are focused on building that branch, I can certainly supply you with all the RICHARDSON (husband of Sarah Jane) info you can handle. Thanks again for your response. - Tom Wilson

    3. Tom,, Thank you very much for the useful information you sent. At this point, I do not know just how all our area Sturmans are related, but I know they are. Most of them lived in a cluster. and many of the older ones are buried at Sugar Camp Cemetery in Moores Prairie Twp, Jefferson County, IL. Also, thanks for sending information on a possible sister to William who is buried at Sugar Camp. Several male Sturmans were named William, so I have to sort them out by generations. The small town where I live here in Hamilton County has a Sturman Street. If I can help you with your Sturman research, let me know. I can send the ones buried at Sugar Camp. Shirley

FLASH.............. Hi Hamilton Co. Cousin's. I have tried so hard to ignore this information for so long, that it is beginning to get on my nerves, so I will now try to make a correction. All of you CAMPBELL researchers, please take note !!! Cora Ponci ??? There is no Cora Ponci, daughter of Joseph Franklin and Eliza E. RAY, CAMPBELL !!! ( I have a note from Harold G. Felty, who was a second cousin of mine who noted that: Cora Pernecy was engaged to be married 2 months before she died.) I have the Family Bible of the Joseph Franklin Campbell family where all of the children are listed on the Birth Page. Joseph Franklin Campbell was my GG Grandfather. When he died the Bible was passes on to my GGrandfather, Alfred Dallas CAMPBELL, he passed it on to my Grandmother, Eliza May (Ina) Campbell, and she left it to me. The first entry in the Bible on the Birth page is " Pernecy Cora Campbell was born January the 17th in the year 1851." ( Brother John, 2nd child of JFC was born in 1853.) To make this CAMPBELL researcher happy, please change your records. Mary Lou Over the years, I have received records on the other children in this family. Many have inaccuracies in the vitals. If you are interested in the correct information from this Bible, let me know, and I will respond to you privately. ==== ILHAMILT Mailing List ==== Listowner, Michael L. 2. Shirley - I have an Elizabeth STURMAN (b. about 1790-1795 in VA just across the border from Chatham County, North Carolina...don't know the exact county... just the area). She married William TILLMAN about 1817. She could be a brother of your William STURMAN. If we were playing "battleship", that would be close. Re STURMANs in Illinois....I have an A.M. Sturman (born in McLeansboro, Illinois) father of Sarah Jane STURMAN (b. about 1840) who married (Nov 4, 1864 in FCI) John Merritt RICHARDSON (b. Dec 15, 1837 in FCI). 7 children. I know very little about their descendants. Sarah and John are my aunt and uncle. Any connections? - Tom Wilson Boca Raton, FL

    1. [ILHAMILT-L] Ayd/Aydt/Ide/Eyd family
    2. Hi, I've recently discovered my lineage from John K. "Cajetan" Ayd, who was one of the leaders of a group of immigrants in 1841 from Baden, Germany. I'm descended from his daughter Catherine Ayd who was born in Hamilton County in 1843/44 and moved with Cajetan and a group of pioneers to Minnesota in 1854. I'd be interested to find more information on the Ayd family. Is anyone researching the Ayd/Aydt family in Hamilton County? If so, please contact me. Thanks, Ken Weber

    3. Carolyn I found rootsweb is up and down and, some sites work while others do not. What they did was: maintenance of its servers and hosting process. Believe me, this is NOT an easy task.
