    3. Evalyn & List: I have no proof of a marriage and from what I do have leaves me very confused because the Obit. of George W Maulding's obit. mentions his sister as Mrs. Liza Sandusky of Springfield. Evalyn, Thanks for the info you gave and I'll drop the second marriage to David until I find other wise. She might have married another Sandusky. The information I posted about the book was from pages 170 & 171. Sincerely, Jim Price

    3. Hi all I have run into a semi-brick wall. My great great grandmother was Matilda Stelle. She was the daughter of Thompson Stelle, Sr. and Elizabeth Lawyer. She married William Archie Clark before 1866. They had 3 children, Laura, Thomas, and Rosetta. I can find Matilda mentioned in Legacy of Kin on Rosetta's obit extraction, but cannot find any information on Matilda herself. I have not been to Hamilton County yet to do research. Rosetta was my great grandmother. Her daughter Mary Myrtle (Mollie) Ingram Vaughn was my grandmother. I can find info on her brothers and sisters and parents but not her. Does anyone have any info on Matilda. I do not know her birthdate, death date, where she is buried, etc. Thanks Linda Dickson

I am his g granddaughter and am not aware that there was a second marriage. Their last daughter-Lillian Susan was born Dec, 25, 1900 and Ella Ward Sandusky died Jan 04. 1901. David Franklin spent his last years with his daughter and son-in-law (my grandparents) Aaron and Anna (Sandusky) Smith. About one month before his death, he went to the Nursing home at Carmi and passed away there on Dec. 03, 1947. Both David Franklin and Ella are buried at Ten Mile Cemetery, Hamilton Co. IL. Are there records showing that this marriage occurred? Evalyn (Hutchcraft) Turner

    3. Back in Feb. 2000, Barb < bschulik@worldnet.att.net > sent me information on the family of Lorenzo D. Maulding who m. Nancy Price 01 Aug 1854 @HCo, IL. the information was from book of "Ambrose Maulding Ancestors, Descendants, & Kinfolk" by Paul Kornmeyer, Denzil R. Maulding, Ruth Maulding Adams, Flossie Gibbs Anderson ( Rev. 1975-79): Nancy (Price) Maulding with her son John Logan are in the Seneca Township of Newton Co., MO. census of 1880 as follows: 372/376 Maulden, Nancy w/f 42 Mother keeping house TN TN TN " , Logan w/m 18 Son at home IL IL TN The census of 1910 of Seneca Township of Newton Co., MO. as Follows 205/205 Maulding, Walter A. w/m head 23 MO IL MO " , Myrtle I. w/f wife 23 TN TN TN 228/228 Mauldin, George w/m head 54 Wid IL IL TN " , Grace w.f Dau 16 s Mo IL KS " , Wesley w/m Son 14 s MO IL KS 231/231 Mauldin, John L. w/m head 48 Wid IL IL TN The question I have is on George W. Maulding's Dau. Grace. according to the above census she was b. ca 1894, not 1888 as reported in the book. There was a John Taylor in the 1910 census of Seneca who's wife was named Grace and she was b. 1888. Another question is about Louisa M. "Eliza" Maulding. 1st marriage was to a Kinlock and 2nd marriage was to David Franklin Sandusky. David Franklin Sandusky's obit. mentions his first wife, Ella Ward but no mention of the secon nd marrige to Louisa. George W. Maulding's obit. mentions his sister, Mrs. Liza Sandusky of Springfield. MONEWTON-L has just part of the 1900 census posted and hope to get the other half posted soon. Therefore I have nothing as to if Nancy was living then or not. Jim Price Brooklyn, Ohio

    3. Does anyone have any information on a William A. Lane, born 1850, son of Moses and Sarah Minerva Lane. He also went by W. A. Lane. Sarah went by Minerva Lane. William was born in Hamilton County in the Belle Prairie area of Crouch township. Was Spencer Lane an uncle of Moses Lane. Moses' first child, named William A. Lane. Spencer passed away at the home of a William Lane in Wayne County. But I think that was Spencer's son. I am wondering if Moses father was a William Lane and he was a brother to Spencer. 1. Re: [ILHAMILT-L] Webbs, Hendricks, Roundtree, Farris
    2. Joan, I did look through the Warren Co. marriage book. It has been about twenty years since I was working with your mother and I had last dug in Webb soil. I forgot that I had a listing in my Webb file that had Webb marriages in the State of Kentucky. Neither source had any Hendricks/Webb marriages in them. I noticed in Franklin Co. and in Hamilton Co. that there were no Hendricks marriages at all in the early years. It seems a bit strange since there were so many Warren Co. families who did come from Warren to those counties. I imagine that the Hendricks line either came in from a grandmother's maiden name, or the Hendricks/Webb connection might have occurred in Virginia before the Webbs moved to KY. If you want a listing of the surnames connected by marriage to the Webbs in Warren Co., KY, I can put that together for you. Shirley Fritsche

    3. "Old" Martin Webb was baptized on 29 Dec 1738 in St Peter's Parrish, New Kent County, VA. (I only have three children for Martin: John born 1860 married Peggy Jones; Judith born 25 May 1779 married William Rountree; Henry born 1783 married Elizabeth Rountree). There are probably many other children born between 1760-1783. Henry Martin Webb (1783-1838) married Elizabeth Roundtree and had children: Clarissa Webb Prince born 12/07/1806 Julia Webb Farris born 1809 Obediah Hendricks Webb born 4/11/1812 Sally Webb McBroom Hall Roundtree Webb born 1818 Elizabeth Webb Wright born 1820 Martin Webb born 1821 Naomi Webb Trout born 1823 Nancy Jane Webb Margrove born 1827 (There may have been other children including Permilla)

    3. Mary Lou, Your story is a familiar one for most counties. Too, many counties keep the money as payment for the look-up (whether is found or not!). One county where a friend was researching charged $7, and that did not cover the cost of the document, which I believe was another $5. Because I am in McLeansboro quite often (grocery shopping, Ford garage, etc.), I will do look ups for people. Since I am there anyway, I do not charge except for the copy if the person wants one. Sorry it took so long to get your marriage record, but things like that do happen. Shirls

Click on Photo of Schools in the INDEX, and the photo I wish for you to look at is the second from the end of the list, titled: "Unidentified Class Photo- Unknown School about 1915" I have identified my Mother in the Photo as Mary Lena DAWS. I quite recently found out that she had a marriage before she married my father. Could her husband to be, be in the School photo ?? His name was Richard M. Nation, and they married on 18 JUN 1917; they both lived in Thackeray. Would anyone from the Nation family be able to identify this young man as being Richard ?? Mary Lou
