Sorry i have taken so long to reply. I am trying to transfer from webtv to jorod7@aol.com and have a big mess on my hands! My parents ( MLJac) had 3 homes & 3 of us kids, purchased them thro the years. My brother found an old book. He's not exactly sure how he came to acquire it. He brought it over because he knew it would 'make my day' and the hunt' began. Is called 'The Story of Illinois and its People. It seems to be a history school book. It was owned by who i call my Great Aunt, Wanda Smith Campbell Carraher. b. 1913 d. 1991. She was m. to Uncle Red & they lived near the square. Her grandparents were A. Dallas Campbell & Mary Melvina York Campbell. They spent their last years in Thackeray. All through the book, she writes of her honey' Willis Malone. She even wrote it backwards in code.., Willis Malone + Wanda Smith. All thro the book WM+WS.Its really cute. Her brother Hansel Smith also wrote in the book. He seemed to of had a few sweeties. On the front inside cover is written.." Wanda Smith at school . Wednesday evening 22 1925 going to a pie supper tonight at Number 53. Going to take a pie tomorrow and friday in institute. Wrote by Miss Wanda Smith with Alva Nations On the back cover is written. WM & UM came in the car this morning. We are going to have company today. Ma , Pa, Uncle Willie + Hazel & old Timer. ( uncle Willie = William Campbell , she wife Hazel & their son Old' Timer., William Osborn Campbell who died when he was abt. 19., he had something similar to spina bifida) Also mentioned in the book., Harold Upton, Mildred Sloan , Mr Luther Upton., Robert R, Dora Campbell , Emma Little ., Eugene Hershel Frazier , and Tom Bruster. They must have been classmates. Boy did Wanda like Willis. Thats all through the book. They must have been about 12 years old. Its so cute. Thankyou for all your info. Good luck in your search. Dear List, Requesting obituary of Martha Ellen SONGER MUNSELL TULLY... I contacted the list recently about the surname SONGER. My grgrandmother Martha Ellen (known as "Ellen") SONGER married my grgrandfather Lyman MUNSELL in White Co IL in 1869. After Lyman's death, she married James W. TULLY. If anyone has access to Legacy of Kin or other source of obits, would you mind checking for an obituary for Mrs. James W. TULLY aka Ellen MUNSELL TULLY. Her death would have, of course, occurred after their marriage in 1891. Any info on James W. TULLY would be appreciated also should it turn up. James TULLY may have been from Clay County or Marion County IL. Thanks very much in advance. Cordah R researching gr3grandfather Ira MUNSELL b 1790 VT (prob Rupert or Dorset) d 1857 Hamilton Co IL
Is anyone related to Willis Malone? He was b. abt. 1913 in Hamilton co. Thankyou Jody R
Does anyone on the list living in Hamilton Co know if Edna Standerfer Gibbs is still alive. She is my mother' s first cousin. We visited her in 1995. She was 90 that October and although she had been ill was still in her own home. The head clerk at the marriage license office knew just where she lived and gave us directions. My mother has not heard from her since then. If anyone knows anything I could pass along to my mother, I would be very greatful. Also, in the last several weeks someone asked for the parents of Mary "Polly" Maulding Daily. Was there any reply? I didn't see any on the list. Thanks. List, Is the above name familiar to anyone? It was mentioned to me in the context of my MUNSELL research. Evidently there was an article on this individual, perhaps in the McL Times-Leader. I sort of recall something like this from Goshen Trails, but am not at all sure. This man may have been a Native American and may have been a school teacher. He was identified as the father of my greatgrandmother Martha Ellen SONGER wife of Lyman W MUNSELL of Hamilton County. Any info will be greatly appreciated! I'm searching for the Bright family that lived in Hamilton County around the 1880-1890. My husband's great-grandfather was born in Hamilton County in 1888. He later moved to Henderson, Kentucky and worked for the L & N Railroad. He married Jo Nell Watson, and had two children. He died in 1927 from TB. This is all the information that we have on him, so any help would be appreciated. Caroline Jordan Bright

Carollyn, don't know if we have any kind of connection with the REED line or not... a great great uncle of mine, Amos Gibson married a Sarah Lillian REED in Hamilton Co.,IL. in 1836..... married by William Gholson, Baptist Minister. I haven't been able to turn up any additional info on Sarah Lillian REED as yet. Amos Gibson was the son of Robert Gibson and I believe his mother's name was also Sarah ? Amos Gibson was born somewhere in TN in abt 1815. Still haven't been able to locate where he and the majority of his siblings were born in TN. One of his brothers, James W. Gibson, was my great great grandfather on my paternal side. It appears the Gibsons got to the Hamilton Co. area in the early 1830s. Do you have any notation where John Franklin REED was born in 1855? I haven't run into the Lampley name connected with my Gibsons, I don't think. But, I will go back and recheck through my notes and see if that surname pops up anywhere in relation to the Gibsons. If you should run into anything on Sarah Lillian REED give me a holler...I'll do the same for you on your REED and LAMPLEY line. You mentioned that "they are buried at Brady at Akin"....is this in IL.? and exactly who is the "they" that are buried there.
