I may not have followed the thread of this topic properly so forgive me if I ask the obvious. I am based in Australia. These books sound interesting. How does one obtain a copy and what is the cost of them. Barbara, The legacy of kin books are are a compendium of obits from 1872 on, and most of them are cross-referenced with the obits of their children and siblings. Marriages are also listed. They are wonderful. They are not perfect, as in the case of one of my Savage cousins whose brother had died in the Dahlgren area in 1921. Someone reported in the Dahlgren paper that the cousin also died, but they I found her in the 1930 census and a note in another obit in 1940 that she was the last living member of the generation. They are very good, and well-indexed. Since there are no IRAD items for Hamilton County they are particularly useful. They are not a county history. I second that motion for a Vol III. Darlene
The Legacy of Kin books are worth the price paid for them, if you have that much research for Hamilton County. First found them in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and couldn't wait to get home to see if I could buy them. Darlene
What would I expect to find in these books? We have limited kin in that county - James Rich - Killian Creek.....or is there more about the history or ???? Thanx Barbara in Sacramento
A comment on these books. I purchased the set when they were first printed and I have used them a lot and I would recommend them to anyone. They are well worth the cost.
