    3. Mary Pauline Wilmoth, died on January 26, 2010 at 94 years of age. She was born on November 6, 1915 in Equality, Illinois, the first of three children of Mary Ada Carr and Paul Prather. From early childhood she was known to her family and friends by the affectionate nickname "Pudge", a name derived from her own childish mispronunciation of her favorite character, Puzzums, in the funny papers. Around 1925 the family moved to a home on Adams Street in Eldorado, Illinois. She graduated from Eldorado High School in the class of 1933. She was active in music and sang the lead in the 8th grade operetta. In high school, she was a class officer and a cheerleader all four years. Sometime in 1934, she met Fred B. Wilmoth and they soon married. Fred preceded her in death on December 29, 1978. Surviving family members include her son: Fred Wilmoth and wife Cynthia of Seattle, Washington; granddaughter: Claire Wilmoth of New York, NY; brother: Thomas W. Prather of Spokane, WA, and his children: Thomas L. (Pam) Prather, Jan Prather, and Marilyn Burger, and nephews: Alan (Lynn) Downen of McLeansboro, IL, and Keith (Wendy) Downen of Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Frances Downen. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Rev. David Estep will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Aydt, 82, of East Peoria died at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at his home. He was born July 28, 1927, in Dahlgren, Ill., to Andrew L. and Clara C. Karcher Aydt. He married Charlene J. Noe on April 11, 1959, in Peoria at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She survives. Dick also is survived by his son, Mike (Karolyn) Aydt of Washington; daughter, Tammy (Steve) Geier of East Peoria; three grandchildren, Ashley (Scott) Roth, Emily Aydt and Seth Aydt; and a great-grandson, Callen Roth. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Aydt. Dick served in the Navy Seabees during World War II and also in the Army during the Korean War. He was a loyal employee, having worked at Hiram Walker & Sons as a bottling supervisor for 35 years until his retirement in 1981. He also worked at Morton Auto Auction for 22 years, last working in August 2004. Dick was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria, where he served as an usher and a volunteer groundskeeper for many years. He was a member of the Msgr. E.L. Grzybowski Knights of Columbus Council in East Peoria and was a 65-year member of the American Legion. A funeral Mass for Dick will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria, with visitation being held an hour prior to services. Father Ken Marchulones will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Additional visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with a prayer service taking place at 6:45 p.m. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or his church. Joy is the daughter of Mark White and the late Geraldine Harrelson White of McLeansboro. She graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1959. After Chuck obtained engineering degrees from Ohio State University in 1961, the couple moved to California, where they remain. They currently reside in the city of Canyon Lake, Calif. Their daughter Cynthia O'Neal resides in Bend, Ore., with her husband, Klint, and their sons Chip and Nathan. Their son Alan Call lives near them in Quail Valley, Calif., with his wife, Wendy, and their children Kelsey, Shannon, Brodie and Taylor. Joy still has many relatives and friends in Hamilton County, and the couple returns here every summer to visit relatives and renew acquaintances.

Vernon, was called home to be with our Lord at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at The Beatitudes Campus of Care in Phoenix.She was born Nov. 6, 1916, in McLeansboro to George Monroe and Dora Marzella (Harris) Malone. On Jan. 19, 1941, she married Andy Hall Marlow in Perrysville, Mo.; he preceded her in death in 1986.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Randy Sells of Central Christian Church officiating. Internment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Monday.Hattie worked for more than 25 years at Illinois Brokerage and managed the shoe department when it became P.N. Hirsch Company. She helped with the volunteer choir at Epworth United Methodist Church in the 1940s, attended Varnell's Rebekah Odd Fellows Lodge, chaired the Franklin School PTA and assisted Brownie Scouts at the Girl Scout Little House. Hattie was an excellent seamstress and made many of her own clothes and costumes for the Betty Dunham Dance Studio. Hattie also sang with The Mt. Vernon Community Chorus in the 1960s. In the 1990s, she enjoyed ballroom dancing. So much so, that she took the class twice at Rend Lake College , earning an "A" both times. Some of her happiest times were spent dancing with friends at The Star Step, to the music of The Golden Nuggets.Mrs. Marlow is survived by daughter Andrea Marlow of Terre Haute, Ind.; grandsons, Byron James Marlow of Phoenix, Christopher Shawn Reichenbacher of Mesa, Ariz., Brett Marlow of Mt.
