    3. Hi Joanne, As soon as I am able to upload today (Rootsweb is currently working to restore the new server), I will be adding the rest of the townships to the L&T Grundy County Directory 1917, and revisions of the existing pages. Patrick Smith is listed on the Morris page, so he resided in Morris on the "n"orth "s"ide of Jackson, 2 (houses or lots) "e"ast of the Catholic Church. Patrick Smith Jr. boards at Patrick Smith's residence on east Jackson. Hope this is helpful to you. I'm a new member of this list. Hope someone can help out. I have a question about the Grundy County Directory on the web site: How can I know what towns the various entries refer to? I'm referring to the entry of Patrick SMITH, named on the1877-1878 Lawrence & Thompson's "Grundy County Directory": SMITH, Patrick, mason, res. n s Jackson, 2 e Catholic Church. SMITH, Patrick Jr., mason, bds Patrick Smith's e Jackson. ------------------- (Who knows what town this refers to? How can the residence be on north and south Jackson and also east? Ha ha. I'm confused! :) !! I am looking for any information on Patrick SMITH, including descendants to exchange info with. Following are identifiers on the Patrick SMITH I am researching: He lived in Grundy county in 1918, possibly around Verona, IL., by that year. I believe he was born near Ormstown , Quebec, Canada. He had a brother, Thomas SMITH, living in York, Nebraska in 1918. He had a sister Mary (SMITH) HARRISON. She was born around 1852 in Quebec. Mary was living in Fresno, CA on the 1920 census. Daughters Alicia b. 1882 and Kate b. 1886, both born in California(?) according to 1900 Fresno , CA., US census. Who was Mary's husband, Mr. ___?____ HARRISON? Was he from Grundy Co.? Mary may have entered US around 1877. A brother, James SMITH died in 1918, possibly in Quebec. A brother, Michael SMITH, died in San Francisco, CA. in 1905. Any information at all on any of the above persons will be appreciated no end!! Joanne in CA (A transported native of Iroquois Co., ILL)
