Greetings to all Grundy County researchers, I am the new county coordinator for the Grundy County IL genealogical website. I have updated the county a little and am in the process of adding more information and material presently. I am working with Michele Houchens, Local History Clerk, of the Three Rivers Public Library, Minooka Branch. Michele has been wonderful. She is finding material that we can put on the website. I have quite a bit at home, but it will take some time for me to get in online. Michele has many resources available and will be offering lookups. I will add her list of lookup materials to the website as soon as I can. Please take advantage of her offer if you need a lookup. She is very thorough and knowledgeable of the Minooka area and other areas as well. If you have material to add to the website, please send it to me at: [email protected] I am looking for early settlers, birth, marriage, death, family bios, wills, military info, cemetery listings, and any info that you feel will be helpful to other researchers and may eventually lead to you making a connection with cousins. We are all here to help each other, so let's get some material posted on this website. :) I am currently working on the 1917 Farmer's and Breeder's Directory of Kendall and Grundy County which contains some really neat info on the farmers and their families (maiden name of wife, children's name, an automobile owner's directory, etc.). It will take me a while to get this info posted. If you would like a lookup for now, please email me and I will provide you with any info listed. To Gwen re: Chally, please give me a couple of days and I will send you the info in the book regarding Chally family. I did find three families listed in Kendall County. I do not have any birth, death or marriage material at this time. Michele has some of this information and it will be posted to the website. Thanks for your patience Gwen!! I found two queries on Haynes listed. If the Haynes researchers are currently on this mailing list, please contact me. I am personally researching Haines who were in Grundy County.
