She has been suffering some time with paralysis and its fatal stroke came today. The funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the house and 10:30 o'clock at the Lutheran church. The deceased had her first stroke of paralysis about Jan 1 and the fatal stroke was received last Tuesday. Mrs. Grunstad was born in Etne, Norway, and was 56 years old last Monday. She had been in this country twenty-nine years and had been married twenty-six years. Four children have been born to her, two of whom survive. July 25, 1904 Halver Grunstead, for more than fifty years a resident of Grundy county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martin Enger, in this city, Saturday evening after an illness consequent to a light stroke of paralysis sustained some time ago together with the infirmities of old age. The deceased was born at Etne, Norway, October 6, 1815, and was therefore, in his 88th year at the time of his death. He came to America in 1847, and after a short residence in New York state came west locating in Saratoga township where he made his home until about 10 years ago when he came to Morris to spend the last of his days on earth. Mr. Grunstead was twice married. He lived with his first wife for 25 years when she died and after a few years spent as a widower he again married living with his second wife for 26 years. She died five years ago and since that time he had made his home with the daughter at whose house he saw the last of earth. The funeral services will be from the home at 10 o'clock and from the Lutheran church at 11 o'clock tomorrow, conducted by Rev. Aarrstad, the interment following at the Lisbon cemetery. (both of these burials were in the West Lisbon Cemetery, which is in Kendall County, IL) Dec 6, 1918 Mrs. Martin Enger died last night at 10:40 in her home, 820 Price street, after a short illness from diabetis. She had been at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Olson in Aux Sable township, taking care of Mrs. Olson and was taken ill Wednesday. It was deemed advisable to bring her to her home in Morris and Davis' ambulance brought her here yesterday morning. She sank rapidly shortly after her arrival. Her maiden name was Stena Grunsted and she was born north of Morris on the Halvor Grunsted farm on the Grundy county line on December 9, 1878, and lived there all of her youth until her marriage to Martin Enger 22 years ago. A year afterward they moved to Morris and have lived here since. Besides the husband, she leaves three children, two sons, Clyde and Allan at home and daughter, Miss Etta, who has been employed in Joliet. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Osman Osmanson, Morris, and half sister, Mrs. Paulson. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in her home, Rev. Aarrestad officiating, and burial will be in Osmanson cemetery, north of Morris. (This is now called Saratoga Cem, Grundy Co, IL) June 8, 1922 Mrs. Omund Osmanson died last night at 8 o'clock in her home on Vine street following an illness of some time. Deceased was Miss Inger Grunsted and she was born in Grundy county 48 years ago, September 3. Later years in life her home was in Morris in Price street until her marriage to Mr. Osmanson June 16, 1917. No children were born of her marriage. She was a sister of the late Mrs. Martin Enger and her husband is all who survives her.
