Grabbed LDS microfilm #1282876, it didn't contain the baptisms for 1865 as I'd intended but did have 1870 -- so born on 19 Dec 1870 and baptised on 1 Jan 1871 was a daughter, Kari. Parents were Niels Hansen and Britha Oldsdatter of Hamre farm. The handwriting in that parish book was a bit "shaky" and I only had a few minutes - so I didn't look further for baptismal sponsors/witnesses or other information. (Fjelberg kirkebok A8, page 42) The area (now called Ølen) was then part of Fjelberg and the baptisms of the earlier children will probably be listed in earlier church books. Your information would seem to indicate that Hamre farm connection may come from Brita's background/family and that perhaps Niels' family had earlier connections to the Stangeland farm. It would be my recommendation that you also check the Fjelberg parish books for a marriage between Niels and Brita - a marriage record listed the fathers for each the groom and bride. The death records are also contained in those books. Last time I checked there are only two of the Ølen bygdebøker (4 total are planned) have been published thus far, but the parish books are excellent!!. Enjoy!
