Horrie of Canada and your James Horrie are related way back in Scotland, but there are no records here about that. Actually, it appears that it is James A. Horrie's wife Jane/Jean who is related to your James. From what I can tell, she is a sister. From what I have found there were about 8 siblings: James b. 27 Sept 1827; Robert (went to Idaho); William b. abt 1842; Malcolm b. 24 Feb 1846; John; Jean/Jane b. 5 Aug 1835; Margaret b. 15 Oct 1843; Ann. Jane Horie married James A. Horie in Grundy Co, IL 18 Oct 1855. James A. Horrie, age 26, born Canada; died from consumption.
