My breakthrough came when I made contact with a lady by the name of Dorothy Mundt of Green Valley, Arizona. She had been researching this Werner line (the parents) for many, many years. Jacob & Catherine's Parents were Johannes Werner born 15 Dec 1789 in Langen, Hesse-Darmstadt (now the State of Hesse), Germany and Catharina Margaretha Sehring born 16 Jun 1794 in Langen, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. Jacob's family bible said that he came to this country on 25 Jul 1847 but after obtaining the manifest from the National Archives I found it to be 26 Jul 1847 on the ship Anna Paulounia which arrived in New York Harbor. All this information and much, much more, going back to the 1600's, is available through the L.D.S. church where Dorothy obtained most of it.
