This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Morse Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wg.2ADE/978.1 Message Board Post: My name is Bill Everett According to the 1880 census, the following household was recorded at Mazon, Grundy, Illinois: Head of Household: Jacob Morse, married, 56 (b.~1824), farmer, born in NY, father born in NY, mother born in NY. Wife: Jane Morse, married, 49 (b.~1831), keeps house, born in OH, father born in OH, mother born in OH. Son: William Morse, 17 (b~1863), helps on farm, born in IL, father born in NY, mother born in OH. Granddaughter: Arvilla Keepers, single, 4 (b.~1876), father born in IL, mother born in OH. In the 1990 census, a William Morse (born in IL, father born in NY, mother born in OH) is recorded in Weaver, IA, with his wife Alice and four young children including my grandfather Dewey H. Morse. Does anybody know if this Jacob Morse (who appears to be my g.g.grandfather) is related to any of the other Morses in Grundy County around 1880, for example, the carpenter G. W. in Morris; the barber George and the farmers John and John Jr. in Minooka? I am presuming that Jacob is the J. Morse at e 1/3 w 2/3 s e qr sec 32 Mazon Township; can anyone confirm this? How can I find out which Morse or Morses is/are buried in the Old Mazon cemetery? Thank you, Bill Everett, Chernogolovka, Moscow Oblast, Russia
