Surnames: Clayton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wg.2ADE/1538 Message Board Post: I am trying to find out information on my great-great uncle Herbert Clayton of Morris who died in 1934. I was told as a child that he was the mayor of Morris at one time. He also served in WW I and I seem to recall his name on a plaque or memorial to war veterans in downtown Morris on my one visit there as a teenager. I have a letter form him to my great grandmother and it makes refrence to him and his brother as being OK over there. Perhaps one of his brothers (James or William) are listed on the plaque as well. Any information on these two subjects would be greatly appreciated.
