The names of parents were not added to the marriage licenses until late 1877. The names of the parents were not on the death certificates until sometime in 1916. The names of the Werner children & the Gorich children do not seem to echo each other. Jacob Gorich's father was Jacob Gorich. The latter died 2 Dec 1862. Lea

The deceased was past his allotted time of three score and ten years, during all of which time since reaching manhood's estate, he had been a hard faithful worker in his chosen trade--that of a tanner. Mr. Werner came to Morris many years ago and connected himself with the Woelfel Leather company as an employe and except at intervals had ever since remained in the employ of the company. He was born in Germany, but came to America when quite a young man, and after a few years spent in the east came to Morris where he had since made his home. His wife died about six years ago, and since that time, it may be said the health of Mr. Werner had not been as good as before. Two weeks ago when Mr. Werner was first taken sick his illness was not considered dangerous, but after a few days symptoms of pneumonia made their appearance, and these in conjunction with his advanced years and physical inability to withstand the ravages of fever, rendered his recovery doubtful almost from the start. The deceased is survived by five children, as follows: Mrs. M. Canaday, Mrs. Lon Porter, Miss Ada Werner and Herbert Werner of this city, and Edward Werner, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The funeral services have not yet been made public, but will be announced later. Lea

Died either 1871 or 1875 (not sure where died place was maybe norway). Married Brita Olsdtr Hamre on April 19, 1863 in Norway. Brita was born 1840 or 1838 Leite, Hamre, Norway the daughter of Ole Nilsen. The 1875 census has her listed as a widow living with her three children. I can't locate a death date on Brita. There oldest son was Ole Nelson born July 20, 1863 Olen, Norway - Death March 1940 in Morris, Illinois. Their second child was Julia (Guro) born November 28, 1865 in Olen Norway. (I know nothing about her except that). Kari was the third child born December 19, 1870 Olen, Norway Died May 31, 1936 Kanawha, Iowa. Her death record show her mother's name being Britta Olson Hanson and her father's name being Nels Hanson Staugland. (Norwegian Names can be confusing). I am trying to find descendant of Julia's; maybe there is a genealogist in the family that can tell me more about Nils and Brita.

I told you they sounded familiar. But you still don't have birthyears for Ole, Kari & Guro or their parents? good estimates of when they came from Norway? (several US censuses captured that information). Ancestral information from Norway is going to need more basic identification for Nils/Berthe and their children...birth years, emigration years... But you sound as if you are actually looking for descendants/living relatives of Julia/Guro

It seems pertinent as you have refrences to one of the children moving to Iowa. I could never figure out why they got married there as all the family, at least the family I knew of, was from Morris. Perhaps that is the reason. I hope this has been of help.

They are nieces and nephew's of Ole's. Ole was a brother to Carrie Jordanger (My great grandmother). I am trying to locate information on her sister Guro (Julia). From this obituary I have learned that Julia married a samson and her children were Marie A. Volk, Nellie Shelton, Christina Almy, and Sam Samson. Ole died in 1940, Morris Illinois. Kari died in 1936, Kanawha, Iowa. Julia was the middle child of Nils Hamre and Brita Olsdtr Hamre (surname Hansen?). I'm guessing that the children of Julia's were born in the years 1885 - 1910. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated.
