In 1814, there may have been some trappers and Indian traders in the area. According to all the census reports, Mary Ann was born in the state of New York and apparently lived all her married life in Lake Co, OH. There is a possibility that the Charles J. Button who married Elizabeth Williams 13 Sept 1862 in Grundy Co, IL, is a son of Elijah & Mary Button. Charles was born about 1838 in Ohio. He was living in Vienna Twp, Grundy Co, IL, in 1860. There was also a Henry Button, born about 1837 in Ohio who was living in Mazon Twp, Grundy Co, IL, in 1860 with a wife Marie & 2 children--Mary & Dudley. Also, living in Grundy Co in 1860 were Morgan Button (born 1822 OH) and Lafayette Button (b. abt 1825 OH). The latter two don't seem to fit your group, but they could be related. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help, but Mary Ann Payne (Minor) was not born here. Lea

Funny thing, I just started doing this look up of my family history today and came to your posting! My great grandfather is Frank Planeta! His daughter Dorothy (now Riemer) is still alive and lives in Chicago. George is son, died a few years ago in Coal City, IL while his widowed wife still lives around that area. Her name is Merle (i believe!) Now while doing my researching, Frank shows up being married to a Nettie or something? It's very hard to read it on the 1930 paperwork. We always thought her name was Jenny. I could be wrong, he could have gotten remarried. I do not talk to my grandmother (Dorothy) that much, but when I see her or talk to her next, I will have to ask her all the detail. She married Ralph Riemer June 6, 1945. They have 2 sons Ronald (born in 1949 lives in California) and my dad Douglas (born 10/1953) living in Elk Grove, IL. I know my grandmother also had a sister, honestly, I don't remember her name. I know I was a little kid when she died! Any in! fo on your end would be great!!! Email me sometime please! I don't have any info past Frank Planeta. P.S... They all lived in the Coal City area, that's what stood out for me when I read your post! Kelly trinity7774@yahoo.com
