I knowmy greatgrandparents vaughn and margaret kalaher came from carrollton and e nded up in kcmo but does anyone know anything about carrolton. i am wondering just how they came to be in illinois from ireland? were there land grants to that area or did people buy plots of land. it just seems kind of strange to me for patrick and peggy kalaher to come straight over from ireland and settle there sometime in the the middle 1800s. peggy
