I have no idea about what the Christian Church in Macoupin County really is, but the term is often used for the Disciples of Christ which thrived in the Midwest until the 1960s when they merged with the Congregationalists and the Evangelical and Reformed Church (essentially a German church) to become the United Church of Christ. As I remember the Disciples of Christ was Duotarians. They didn't believe in the Holy Ghost. In fact, I don't think that they were far in doctrine from New England Baptists.
