    3. Good morning. My understanding of the Reformation movement which resulted in the Christian church, or Disciples of Christ (still called that in our area), is the movement which arose mainly in the Elkhorn Baptist Association of Kentucky during the days of Alexander Campbell and Barton Stone, et all. I have some writings dating back to 1830 by the Baptists describing this turmoil which resulted in a new denomination. The Primitive Baptists (called Regular Baptists throughout the 19th century) had a church in Roodhouse, and one at Barrow Station. Actually, there were some other very early PBC's in Greene county too, - one in or near Carrollton called Providence, org. in about 1820, one called Apple Creek in White Hall which only lasted from 1822 until 1840, one near Rockbridge called Taylor's Creek, from 1828 to 1864, one at Greenfield called Bethlehem from 1835 to 1880, and more. The church at Barrow, called Union, was in existence until about 1950, and I have not given up that possibly some of the family of James O. Kemp may have preserved the records which would begin in 1830 if they are all intact, and would have a lot of early Greene County names.
