I think we've all talked before. We seem to share the same names, locations and dates, but no connections yet. With such similarities, there must be a thread somewhere--almost all coming to IL from NC. To this I've added the Lovelace and Morrow name more recently. I have Charles Lovelace and Rebecca Morrow. A son (Allen) married Acenith Chipman in Greene County. Later the young Lovelaces and her parents Seth and Sarah Lorton Chipman went to Fannin County Texas. Apparently they joined the elder Lovelaces there. The Lovelaces (Rebecca Morrow) are buried in Brown Cemetery in Bonham, Fannin County TX. I also have Bacon family in addition to the Chipman-Lorton family--they were here in 1818 when Illinois became a state. All in Greene County. I have most of the info on them except death record for Jacob Gordon Bacon. That gives me 7 family names about which I have found some great information and some very serious dead ends--It's tough to have so many lines eminating from the same place. I often have to stop and get the names in the right family when I start skipping around too much. Is there a possibility some records might be in Jersey County? Is this location close enough geographically or near the time the county boundaries changed? Right now, I'm waiting on an answer back from NARA in Wash, DC on a James Allen buried next to Delia (Davis) Allen in Macoupin County, with nothing on his tombstone but his Civil War outfit. I heard from them to say I had not completed my credit card data completely. :-(( I did so and resent--guess I had to get back in the queue again. I was intrigued by the suggestion there might be a settlement large enough to support a church its records. And I guess I need to look at the Atlas. Jan
