I have the book "The Journals of William E. McLellin 1831-1836" which tells of McLellin and Parley P. Pratts missionary efforts in this area in 1833. They preach in the home of Esquire Walker at one point which I believe to be my 4th great grandfather, John Walker, founder of Walkerville, Greene Co. Ill. John's son, Edward Robertson Walker was a branch president of the Apple Creek Branch around 1842 and in 1852 traveled with the Mormon Pioneers across the plains to Utah. I am trying to find the parents of John Walker. If anyone on this list has LDS (Mormon) connections that might have originated from these early missionary efforts, please contact me. Some of the names mentioned in the journal from this area are: Ephraim Harper, Henry Robley, Griswold, Coon, William Watson, William Campbell, Elijah dodson, James Henderson, Daniel Henderson, Michael Baker, John Baker, Robert Negus, James Turney, M. Bledsoe, John Scott, Aaron Holden, John Russell, Saml Gates, James H. Reid, Luther Calvin, James White, Matthew Dayton, Geroge W. Clendien, Thomas Turner. There was also a visit by Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball to Apple Creek in 1842 and they stayed in the home of Esq. Walker. Marcia Walker Shelton
