Thus this is your Hester and I must have another Thomas Caudle, but people were asking about Pleasant so I am sure I have the right family there. To answer information below: Yes, Hester on the 1860 is my Hester Ann Butcher Caudle widow of Thomas Parish Caudle who died in 1851. My best guess is that Thomas Caudle who m. Naomi Smith is the son of Isham Caudle and Sarah Arnold who are buried in Land Cemetery in Macoupin Co. One of Thomas Parish Caudle and Hester Ann Butcher Caudle's children was Rebecca Elizabeth Caudle who m. Henry Zachariah Emmons...They are buried close to Uncle Isham and Aunt Sarah in the Land Cemetery...while her parents are buried in Buckeye Cemetery in Wayne Co. The Caudles apparently went first to Macoupin Co. and Greene Co...then some went to Wayne Co. ...and some came back to Macoupin and Greene and some even made another move back to Wayne... There is a woman named Ellen Hill who is a schoolteacher. She writes that she is descended from Thomas Caudle who died April 19, 1896 and who m. Naomi Smith b. 5 Oct 1833 in Ohio.
