I was in Greene County in 1964 and visited both the courthouse and the Greene County Historical and Genealogical headquarters (across from the courthouse). People in Greene County are very helpfull! The ladies in the office of the County Clerk directed me to other holdings in the courthouse where I might find information about my Greene County families. The Historical and Genealogical Society has numerous files (family surname) in their holdings and were very helpfull; I was able to select items to be copied. They also have a number of publications (cemeteries, marriages, etc.) that are very informative. The courthouse and Historical and Genealogical Society are goldmines of information!!!
