Here is the link for info on getting death certs: http://www.idph.state.il.us/vital/forms/deathhow.htm That's the official IL Dept. of Pub. Health site. There is a $10 fee for genealogical non-certified copies (death must be over 20 years ago) and a $19 fee for certified copies. The site has a request form you can print out and mail. Deaths before 1916 will be at the County Courthouse, probably, or at the IRAD in Springfield IL.
