My maternal ggrandfather is Arthur Davis who married a Priscilla Rawlins (?-1/8/1861) on 8/30/1853 in Greene County ( I looked on 1879 bios in greene county and found their marriage listed as being on page 587; unfortunately, I've not been able to persue it further). I have his birth as 12/1817 in Rowan County, N.C., being the son of James Davis (1780 N.C.-8/18/1858) and Jane Morrow(1770-11/18/1855). Their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth (no information) married my grandfather, Wm. E. Thompson on 3/15/1876 in Greene County (date approximate). They had four or five sons and my grandmother, Emma Zetta Thompson (4/21/1880-12/27/1956). She married Robert F. Carlton 4/5/1905). this information is the result of research done by relatives years ago; unfortunately James and Jane are as far back as I have information.
