Dear Jan, Thanks for writing. There is a connection here to the Morrows, with Allen Lovelace who married Asinath Chipman. I'm copying the Morrow tree information here for your info. Rebeccas Morrow is in a lateral line to my Morrows (she's a sister to Arthur Morrow, my line). But they were in Greene County IL before going to Fannin Co. Texas. This is the first time I've been in contact with someone who was part of the Rebecca Morrow Lovelace line, so it's fun to meet you! I really don't know anything about your line except for what's on this tree info, so I don't think I could help you much more. I am going to check land entries for the Chipmans to see if they lived near to my Davises. (I always find it interesting to guess how the people who married met--whether as neighbors, maybe from school or church.) I should also add that I received the family tree info. from another researcher and that I have not verified any of the information. Good luck! Jan & Lois' discussion of Pruitts, Lovelaces, and other families, moving between the Carolinas (particularly Rowan Co., NC), Greene Co., IL, Texas, and possibly Cape Girardeau Co., MO, rings a bell with me. My Hahn line left the Hickory, NC, area about 1800 for the Cape Girardeau, MO, area while MO was part of Spanish Louisiana Territory, arrived in what is now Greene Co., IL, in the 1820's along with other Hahns who got there via IN rather MO. About 1840, g-g-g-grandfather, Joshua Hahn, Jr., his son Henry Hahn & possibly others relocated to the Republic of Texas. Joshua Hahn, Jr., died Sept.1859 at Gainesville, TX. Other Hahns including g-g-grandfather David Hahn remained in Greene Co. David Hahn's eldest son Benjamin married Matilda Wells a daughter of John Wells and Matilda Irwin who came to Greene Co. from Rowan Co., NC, in the early 1830's. Another daughter of John & Matilda (Irwin) Wells, Cynthia Wells (11/12/1838, Greene Co., IL-5/19/1905, Greene Co., IL) married James Thomas Lovelace on 2/13/1859, Greene Co., IL. I recall seeing the Wood name mentioned. Information coming from the Henry Hahn, part of the clan, shows a sister of Henry & David, Sophia Mary Hahn, b.1814, who married a Mr. Wood (no first name listed). Ellis Hahn (b.abt.1867), g-uncle, son of Benjamin & Matilda (Wells) Hahn, married Minnie Pruit, 11/27/1892 in Greene Co., IL. I also saw Jackson mentioned in this series of posts and I have major Jackson/Moore in the early but I'll have to get to that later. I've got to logoff, pack up my laptop, and head off to work again.
