I have a Delia W Davis, b 1810, VA. In censuses her age varies, so the actual birthdate is unknown. Wife of James Allen b. 1813, KY. Two sons, William and John. The 1860 cesus shows additional person in house-- Clarissa Wood. A Clarissa Davis married George Wood earlier and is a widow. I haven't time to look up the marriage date at the moment, but if this has relevance to you, I surely will do so. Delia's middle initial W. has remained curious. She is buried in a different location from these Allens--alongside a John Allen who has a military outfit designated on his tombstone and died earlier. I have also been unable to locate his military unit and the reason why she is buried there, and often appears to be more than 3 years older than her enumeratied "husband". John Allen is a hard name to research in this area!
