    3. Dear Betty, I am doing some checking on Elder John Record but it may take a little time before I can give you an answer. I've been checking some others who came from that area also. Can you tell me anything more about the Rock Creek (Shiloh) Baptist Church in Maury Co., Tennessee? I do know that John Record and Joshua Caudle were in Shiloh (Shiloah) Church in Macoupin Co., but am not sure of its exact location. I do have the names of some of its early members, so maybe that would help determine the location. It was one of the churches which organized the Concord Association. Elder Record was also a member of Concord Church, south of Palmyra, in Macoupin Co., from 1836 until 1839 when he joined a church called Liberty in Sangamon Co., and after this he was a member of a church called Rockspring in Macoupin Co., and Shiloh, but I'm not sure what order these movements occurred in. I also think he was still later a member of the Friendship Church which still exists at the west edge of Winchester, in Scott Co., Ill., as I have a record of him as pastor there, and his daughters being baptized there. I think he also preached at Plum Creek Church near Bluffs, in Scott Co. I also have a record that he helped ordain Elder Daniel Parker, in May 1806, in the Nashville, Tennessee, area, along with Garner McConnico and John Turner, at Turnbull Church (this church still exists, I think it is in Dickson Co.) More later, Robert ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! 3. Robert, this is wonderful information. It is quite interesting. I will check with Caudle family who are still in Tennessee and doing geneology...the ones who did not come to Illinois. They can get us some information on the Rock Creek (shiloh) Baptist Church in Maurey Co...Maurey was Marshall Co. at times...I can't keep that all straight...so have to rely on written work...I am off on a trip for two weeks...so it may be awhile...sorry...betty At 09:36 AM 1/3/2001 -0600, you wrote: >Dear Betty, > I am doing some checking on Elder John Record but it may take a >little time before I can give you an answer.
