I 'm searching info about John Vaughn who was shown to have married Elizabeth Scroggins in Greene Co on October 20, 1831. I found John P & Elizabeth Vaughn ( my gggrandparents) in the 1850 census for Pike Co. and would like to determine if they were the couple who married in 1831. John P. was to have been born in Va. and Elizabeth in Ky. One of their sons-also John P.-was found in the Pike Co census for 1880 in the Springcreek Twp. A distant cousin & I are at a dead-end with the elder Vaughns and would like to learn in which counties they were born and their parents' name. Thanks.

Have you run into a Pertima Vaughn Richardson b. april 10, 1837 dau. of Benjamin F. Vaughn and Martha Clayton? She had a half brother Reverend William E. Vaughn of Carlinville, Illinois and five half sisters...I have never tracked this Vaughn Family Down...so I don't have info on your John P. and Elizabeth...but wonder if our lines might connect somewhere...betty .
