    1. [ILGREENE] Almhouse or Poor Farm
    2. Marty Crull
    3. I have a very large project and it is going to take some serious researchers and is going to cost a few bucks to get it done. As you may or may know, there were two almshouses in Greene County over the years. The last one was started about 1870. This is one near my house here in Greene County. The project will be typing the inhabitants rosters. In order to get them from the Historical Society, it will cost 40 cents a page and there are about 150 pages of them from 1870 thru 1928. I have some already typed and the rest is just too expensive for me to take on. The rosters are quarterly, 1 to 2 pages each 4 times a year or about 8 pages. Some are full years and others are missing as many as 1/2 of the inhabitants. Let me if you are willing to help. I think if we can get about 30 to 45 people on this we can know it out in no time and it won't cost too much for one person. You will order straight from the Greene County Historical Society. I'll have nothing to do except let you know who's doing what years. Once it is done then we can post it on the ILGREENE site. Thanks Marty

Does anyone out there have access to an 1870 ILL census index to tell if these folks are still in the state or if the kids died, etc. We'd really appreciate any help, Karen Skysilver2000@charter.net

    1. [ILGREENE] [GREENE-L] WWII Deaths and Burials
    2. Debbi Geer
    3. I am typing the deaths which appeared in the Carrollton Patriot Newspaper during the 1940's. In the year 1943 there are quite a few deaths mentioned of individuals who were in WWII at the time. As part of my information I would like to include their burial if it was not in one of the cemeteries set up for the War Dead overseas. I can access the inventories at the Morgan Co Genealogical Society's website but it doesn't include all the cemeteries. I know that Carrollton City and St John's in Carrollton are a couple of those not available. There could be others. I would like to have a contact who would be willing to check for burials of these individuals who gave their lives for our freedom. If you would like to help, please contact me. Thank you.
