    1. [ILGREENE] Cemetery updates
    2. Marty Crull
    3. Folks there seems to be a little confusion. I'm not looking to update "SURNAMES" from the counties but only those surnames buried in the county cemeteries. Example: Smith Anna; Smith Joseph both buried in such and such cemetery. Not the descendants of Joseph and Anna Smith of such and such county. And please only one surname at a time and please let me know which county. Lastly, I will not send you every thing I have on each surname, frankly because I have been burned by some who get the information that I have and I never hear from them again. I do appreciate the help. 2. Marty, I would be glad to help with my Benjamin HUFFMAN/HOFFMAN of Greene Co., IL Problem is that so little info about him has been found. Here is what I have. Benjamin HUFFMAN, b. c1763 Culpeper Co., VA m. Peggy ______ in VA d. after 1830 census, prob Greene Co., IL Left Culpeper Co., VA c1806 In KY 1810, 1820 Censuses Wife, Peggy, died in KY after 1820 Child, James, married in 1827, Greene Co., IL In tax records of Greene Co., IL 1828 Date and place of death of Benjamin unknown. Children-born in VA and KY These children were married in Greene Co., IL -Rebecca, m. 19 Feb 1839 Benjamin THOMPKINS -Mariah, m. 15 Nov 1840 John GOAR -Nathan, m. 4 Nov 1840 Catherine Ann GOAR (my line) -James, m. 20 Mar 1827 Lucinda BORUFF -John, m. 21 Nov 1833 Parmella B. BOYLES -Purlina, m. 25 Oct 1832 Joshua O. CLARK -Nancy, m. 4 Nov 1840 Levi HEIGHTON It appears that Nathan vouched for his sister, Purlina, in 1832. Since Benjamin was in Census of 1830 and not the relative vouching for Purlina in 1832, Benjamin probably died between 1830 and 1832. Nathan seems to have been head of household of his younger siblings in USC1840, before he married in Nov 1840. Hope this helps, I still need to know where and when Benjamin died. Seriously,, Hugh

    1. [ILGREENE] Hopper - Collins query
    2. I am asking for your help or to suggest someone that can. My name is BILL DUCHEK (bduchek@aol.com) and I live in San Diego and I'm not sure when I can get back to IL to do some research (I was born in Chicago a long time ago - I will now be able to find myself on the newly released census). My query: My gggf JOHN DALTON HOPPER and wife SARAH, with her parents, NATHAN COLLINS and wife MARY, passed through your neighborhood in the early 1830's. They were migrating from Lincoln County, NC - made a stop in Lincoln County, TN (1820 & 1830 census), through IL on their way to Cape Girardeau, MO (1840 census). From 1831 to about 1838 the 2 men bought BLM land in Western Mounds and Chesterfield twns in Macoupin County and in Fayette twns of Greene County. I would have to assume the lands were sold before the move. We are not aware of any deaths or marriages but JOHN DALTON HOPPER and SARAH did have 2 boys - JOHN DALTON HOPPER, JR and WILLIAM JAMES HOPPER born while there - I do not know exactly when or in which area they resided. I would suppose that dates and places would be difficult to find but if any data is available and can be substantiated I would be willing pay someone to help out. Thanx
