I am very interested in this book - I had never heard of it before! My ancestors George Elmer WINN and his wife Cora REAMER Winn, and George Washington WINN and his wife Mary Catherine BOGGESS Winn might be in the Memories book. Also Nathan P. DAWSON and his wife Ruth AMOS Dawson, Philemon Dunn REAMER and his wife Matilda Catherine DAWSON Reamer, James AMOS and his wife Matilda FRALEY Amos, William RHODES and his wife Mary Ellen BATTY Rhodes, William BATTY and his wife Ruth ADKINS Batty, Jerry BETHARD and his wife Nancy MAYFIELD Bethard, and Madison BOGGESS and his wife Elizabeth REDDING Boggess. All of them lived in Carrollton, White Hall or Wrights in the 1800's - early 1900's. If I have anyone in the book, I would love to buy a copy. I missed out on how to order the book, if it is still available. Thank you, Shirley Winn Williams
Would someone please post the address again where the Greene County Memories Book can be purchased? I seemed to have missed that. I understand the cost is $32.95. I would love to have a copy if they are still available. Ray Goodwin Shingle Springs, CA
Could you check on the William Lakin family? Thanks, Donna ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 20, 2000 3:00 AM Subject: ILGREENE-D Digest V00 #177
In the memory book, is there an ANDERSON ORR mentioned? Thank you for any help you can give me. Bobbie
I have this Greene Co. Memories Book also...there are over 900 names indexed in the back of this book...listing them all is not an easy task...sorry. This hard-backed book is some 205 pages and 8x10 in size. Penny < [email protected] >
It would be nice if someone could take those names that are mentioned and list them for us so we could know if it would be worth our while to purchase. Marina
Kent, Have you checked with the Greene Co. Historical & Genealogical Society? They have the 1879 and 1885 County Histories. There is family information on Alexander King and his wife Mary Waggoner and their children in the Histories and there may be other info. in their family file. I have copies of the info. on the Waggoners and portions of, but not complete, info. on the Kings. My descent is through John D. Waggoner and his second marr. to Mary Jane Aulabaugh. Their daughter Sarah Elizabeth Waggoner marr. Charles H. Perrine. Good luck on your search. Let me know if I can be of further help. Book starts with early Greene - Opening sentence, "In 1821..." Have also seen pictures from 1990's. As I have mentioned, it is mostly just labeled pictures. In some cases it will have the wife's family so great way to get some more names for the family tree. Cost me $32.95. Personally, worth the price since I have so much family from Greene Co. I have a copy of the 1850 and 1860 Greene county censuses. Which Close family are you interested in? There are a couple of families listed. Anyone familiar with a Close family early in Greene Co? Janet in San Antonio
May I ask the years that this includes? The reason I ask is because sometimes these are done for special events that are somewhat "recent" and go back, perhaps to the early1900s. I'm looking for memoirs earlier than that--and if so, would like to order a copy. What does the Courier charge? Thanks, Jan
Have you tried the Il marriage site for their marriage?
