Hi I've missed something here. At what address are the bios located? (I'm looking for Hardwicks in Greene County) There's been such a flurry of messages that I may have deleted an earlier entry that referred to it. Thanks for the help in advance and sorry about the inconvenience. Jan W.

Personally, I think it's good to post it to the list just in case there is someone else looking for that surname, too. I'd hate to respond the same answer several times. However, it's up to Shirley to make the final call on that (at least I think it's you Shirley who is charge of this list!). > > Mr Fernandes lives in Jacksonville, Illinois. Judging from the responses to this posting, I am wondering if it would be a good idea to post the full title, author, publisher and date of publication so that those interested in the book can request it through the Inter Library Loan System at their own Public Libraries. Also where it may be purchased==firm/publisher's name and address. Every public library works within this system nationally. They enter your request into the system. All you have to do is supply the necessary information at the reference desk in your local library. They submit the request and when the book (or in some cases, microfilm) becomes available, they receive it, notify you and you may borrow the book for a designated segment of time. My library charges $2.00 for the service (postage). I have used this wonderful service many times and never been disappointed. Some books are "Reference Only" in some libraries, in others they are not. I live in California and I had a book request that was found at the University of New Hampshire library collection. It had valuable side-bar information in it, that I could use as well. This is a remarkable service which not enough people are aware of. If you find your ancestor you can order the book from the supplier or an out-of-print book service. It's worth a try. Jan
Will you please check for Scates/Skates in the Greene Co. Book..thank you.. As I get digest version of list, will answer as they come in and I have time (busy with kids). As another reminder, these are just pictures. I have found several mistakes, so your family could be there and not listed correctly (as I have found with mine). Kathy [email protected] wrote: > > Could you check on the William Lakin family? Mr Fernandes lives in Jacksonville, Illinois. You can write to him (don't believe I should give out his phone number since I don't have his permission) at 15 Shenandoah Ave., Jacksonville, IL 62650. I think Mr. Fernandes put together this book in cooperation with the Jacksonville Journal Courier. There was also one done on Scott County and one on Morgan County. The last I knew, you could buy these books at the Journal office. Am not sure how many or which of these books are still available, but you might call the Jacksonville Journal Courier Office and ask. They can be reached at (217) 245-6121 Shirley ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kathy Wagner" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 21, 2000 11:02 AM Subject: Re: Greene Co. It would help the e-mail traffic if look-up requests about the Greene Co Memory Book could be sent directly to J. Taylor, rather than posting each and every request on the list. Donna Bond
