Some of you are probably aware of this great site already. The Morgan Area Genealogical Association maintains a site that has transcriptions of all sorts of county records for Morgan Co. and other counties in the area, including Greene Co. You should definitely check this site out if you haven't already. The Greene Co./Scott Co. page is: http://www.rootsweb.com/%7eilmaga/index_gre-scot.html The MAGA main page is : http://www.rootsweb.com/%7eilmaga/index.html There is an almost complete transcription of the Greene County cemeteries, some County History indexes & bios, a few Coroner's Record Book transcriptions, and links to census transcriptions, plus some others. There is a link to the MAGA site on our Resources page, but it's called "Researching Your Roots in West Central Illinois" and is at the bottom of the page. I'll post it more prominently sometime soon along with a list of what's in it. It's a great resource. Hi, everyone, I've just updated the Surnames web page with a bunch of new surnames per request: Black, Cashin, Collins, Converse, Cox, Irwin, McAdams, Munday, Neely, Parr, Smith, Ward, Warren, & Wood. Note the new "Updated" date on the page. "NEW" tags will stay on the page for about 2 weeks after the Updated date to make it easy to find what's been added recently. Can't find your Greene family surname? Send me a message off list with your surname and email address & website link (if you have one), and I'll add it to the list. Only names with a Greene Co. connection will be posted. Jeannie Smith, Co. Coord. for Greene Co., IL, on ILGenWeb http://rootsweb.com/~ilgreene/green.htm ILGreene-L@rootsweb.com
