The name Jackson JONES shows up in my JONES family.......... he was born Graves Co, Ky in 1844 to James Garland JONES and Frances L. "Franky" STARK b 1824 in Laurens Co, SC daughter of Thomas STARK and Mary Ann BLACKBURN......... I have found some of my people (mostly McCLAINs) from this area (Graves, Hickman, Fulton Cos, Ky......Weakley, Henry, Obion Cos, Tn.) were in Gallatin Co, Il early on.....early 1800s......... James Garland JONES was killed while digging a well......it caved in on him burying him alive.......could be that it also involved his brother.........this was late 1849 or early 1850 (at least before census was taken in Graves Co, Kentucky. In a letter written by my great aunt she stated that she meet her aunts one day on the road. She also stated that she thought one of them married a Steve JONES? My great aunt also stated that the sisters lived either in Hickman or Hickman County, Kentucky. I did find a death record for Frances L. "Franky" Stark JONES died August 1887 but I have not found her on the 1880 census! She is buried at Old Bethel Cemetery, Graves Co, Kentucky but only has a red rock to mark her grave......she is buried next to a great grandchild of hers........
