Listers I ask you to take a minute and read at least a part of what I write. This morning I read a message posted on this list that began "Hello people! This is getting irrational." The author further states she has an ancestor, who also had a salt lease, is listed in one census as being the largest slave holder in Gallatin Co is a part of history and he sits prominently at the top of her tree with all the other scallawags and scoundrels. As we have stated before, there were many slave owners in Gallatin County in the 19th century. Why is the Crenshaw family THE target?? Why not other slave holders? Could the real interest be the Crenshaw house? Why?? How did one family become the focus of so much attention?? Who started the finger pointing?? Why?? A discussion is one or more people exchanging opinions, ideas, etc. It should be done in a rational way. Why do you people want to stop those who are interested in discussing this. Is it because you are not interested in the subject? Do like the others who don't share the same interest you have. I'm not a trouble maker. I have feelings, opinions and concerns. It is not my intention to take away from your list. Can we not share it and get to know what each other feels without hostility?
