I am trying to trace the path of my grandmother Tabitha Sater Bishop who married Joseph Bishop in 1884, and had 5 children. I finally recieved a copy of my gggrandmother's death certificate, and it has her father listed as John Godrey, and it shows Tabitha as being born in Newark Ohio. When Tabitha married Joseph she was listed with the maiden name of Cowen. Her death certificate shows her as Tabitha Sater Bishop, and I know Tabitha's middle name was Jane not Sater, so to this day I have not been able to find out what the Sater link is. I had at one time thought that it may have been her birth name, had she been adopted by Cowen's later, but her father's name being shown on her birth certificate is John W. Godrey.
