Jeff can be reached at JeffGossett@charter.net. Sincerely, Jon Musgrave www.IllinoisHistory.com Alexander E. Bruce, 87, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at St. Anthony's Health Center, Alton. He was born July 12, 1915, in Ridgeway, Ill., to Orval Pool and Ida Jerrells Bruce, now deceased. He married the former Vesta Eilene Bradshaw May 27, 1939, in Alton. She died May 2, 1996. A member of the Presbyterian Church and the Society of Engineers, he formerly owned and operated his own design and development company for 35 years. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Larry and Bobbi Bruce of St. Charles, Mo., Richard and Teri Bruce of Indianapolis; two grandsons; and a brother and his wife, Willard C. and Bernie Bruce of Godfrey. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. The Rev. Leroy Smith will officiate.
