Hello everyone, After months of waiting, the Handbook of Old Gallatin County and Southeastern Illinois is ready to be shipped from the printers tomorrow. That means I should receive it sometime early next week. I really appreciate everyone who pre-ordered the book and had the patience to stick with me. As I've explained before, a teaching job starting last September pre-empted my plans. The book is a 6 x 9" hardcover book with 464 pages that includes a full version of the 1887 history of Gallatin County (plus updates and corrections), two new sections from other 19th and early 20th Century sources that provide other elements of the county's history entitled Early Anecdotes of Gallatin County and Military History of Gallatin County. The book also contains more than 250 biographies of early Gallatin County men, plus a couple of women. And as required for any book that is of interest to genealogists, it's fully indexed.
